June 2014 Jazz Festival in Jamaica

June is National Aboriginal History Month in Canada

In June, Canadians celebrate National Aboriginal History Month, an opportunity to honour the heritage, contributions and cultures of Aboriginal peoples in Canada.  June has long been a month of celebration and remembrance in Canada, with National Aboriginal Day on the 21st, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on the 24th, and Multiculturalism Day on the 27th.  For more information see Canada's National History Month.

See "The Miracle Worker" at Helen Keller's Birthplace

SEE THE MIRACLE WORKER AT HELEN KELLER'S BIRTHPLACE: Every summer there is a live outdoor performance of the Tony and Academy Award winning play "The Miracle Worker" on the grounds of Helen Keller's birthplace in Tuscumbia, Alabama. This year the performances will be June 6 though July 12, every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved seats and the price includes a free tour of the Hellen Keller's home and grounds (gates open at 6:45 pm for the tour). National 9-11 Museum Opening May 21, 2014

The United States National September 11 Memorial Museum in New York City is being dedicated this week and it will be open to the public on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Tickets can be ordered in advance on the museum's Web site for $24 to $15 USD depending on the age of the visitor. Free admission is available, as space allows, every Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A limited number of those free tickets can be ordered in advance on the museum's Web site at 911 Memorial Dot Org
